Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Recofast Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Recofast Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving : UNSAFE

Recofast Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.

Kidney : CAUTION

Recofast Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Recofast Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advised for dose adjustment.

Liver : CAUTION

Recofast Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Recofast Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Recofast Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Q. Phenylephrine Q. Is it safe to use Phenylephrine??
    Ans: Yes, Phenylephrine is safe for most of the patients. However, in some patients, it may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, fatigue, dizziness, dryness in the mouth, sleepiness and allergic reaction. If you experience any persistent problem while taking this medication, inform your doctor as soon as possible.
  • Q. Q. Can the use of Phenylephrine cause dizziness??
    Ans: Yes, the use of Phenylephrine can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for sometime and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines. Consult your doctor if the side effect persist or worsen.
  • Q. Q. Can the use of Phenylephrine cause nausea and vomiting??
    Ans: Yes, the use of Phenylephrine can cause nausea and vomiting. To avoid nausea one can take Phenylephrine with milk, food or with antacids. If vomiting occurs, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists. You should let your doctor know if you are unable to drink water and there are signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
  • Q. Triprolidine Q. Dose Triprolidine cause drowsiness/does it make you feel drowsy/ sleepy??
    Ans: Yes. Drowsiness and dizziness are common side effects of Triprolidine
  • Q. Q. Is Triprolidine a sedative??
    Ans: Triprolidine can produce effects like inducing sleep and drowsiness. However, it is not used as a sedative drug
  • Q. Q. Is Triprolidine an expectorant??
    Ans: No. Triprolidine is an anti-histamine drug used to relieve allergic symptoms of common cold and cough. It may be included in expectorant (aid expulsion of mucus as cough) or antitussive (used for dry cough) cough/cold preparations

    Ans: Triprolidine or triprolidine hydrochloride is an anti-histamine drug
  • Q. Q. What is it used for??
    Ans: It is used to relieve allergic symptoms of common cold and cough such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching (in eyes, nose, throat), congestion in the nose and sinuses (air cavities around the nose). It may also be used to treat other allergies like red itchy bumps on skin (hives), mild allergic skin reactions, inflammation of eyes due to allergy (allergic conjunctivitis) and swelling of eyes and lips (angioedema)

    Ans: Triprolidine may not get you high. However, it may occasionally cause paradoxical excitation (unexpected excitation or increase in activity/agitation) and hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not really there)

    Ans: Triprolidine is an anti-histamine drug and belongs to a class of drugs called H1 receptor antagonists. It provides relief from the symptoms of common cold and other allergies by blocking the biological effect of naturally released substance called histamine that triggers allergic responses.
