Product Informations: Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet

In Parkinson's disease Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet relieves symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremors, muscle stiffness, and difficulty moving. It increases the amount of a chemical called dopamine in the brain which helps in the coordination of body movements. This medicine can therefore enhance the quality of life by improving the ability to carry out daily functions in a better manner.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat Parkinson's disease. It helps to provide better control of body movements and prevents excessive shaking and stiffness. Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet can be taken alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. You should never skip any doses and try to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication mustn't be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it can result in confusion, stiff muscles, and a high fever. Some common side effects of this medicine include joint pain, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), dyspepsia (indigestion), influenza or cold-like symptoms, depression, cough, and peripheral edema (swelling in the extremities, especially lower limbs). It even causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. You should undergo periodic examinations to detect skin cancer while taking this medicine as it increases the risk of developing cancer. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood, hallucinations, an abnormally high sex drive, an urge to gamble, or uncontrolled spending as these may prove very harmful.

Alcohol : UNSAFE

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet.

Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving : UNSAFE

Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : CAUTION

Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.

    Ans: Yes, you should not smoke while on this medicine since smoking interferes with its working. Smoking can decrease the rate at which your symptoms improve.

    Ans: It is best if you avoid aged cheese, herring (fish), and red wine. But, since taking these foods with Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet does not affect blood pressure or heart rate, these can be taken in very small amounts.

    Ans: It could be due to Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet. If you feel lightheaded, dizzy or faint while getting up from bed, get up slowly. This will help your body get used to the change in position and blood pressure. If this problem continues or gets worse, talk to your doctor.
  • Q. Q. I am experiencing a runny nose and cold since I began taking Rasipar 0.5mg Tablet. Can I take Vicks??
    Ans: No, you should not take Vicks or any other medicine containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine. These cold remedies interfere with Rasagiline and are not recommended. Take your doctor’s advice to treat your runny nose and cold.
