This medicine can help increase your ability to exercise and go about your daily life more easily by reducing the frequency of angina attacks. You should take it regularly and as long as it is prescribed for it to work effectively.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ranogard Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
Ranogard Tablet ER is used for the management of angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps to prevent new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack, once started. It relieves chest pain by making the heart work more efficiently. Ranogard Tablet ER should be taken in the dose as advised by your doctor, at the same time each day. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm. If you stop taking it, your chest pain may come back. You can improve the health of your heart by making some lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating well, taking regular exercise, and managing stress. Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, constipation, and weakness. Talk to your doctor if these bother you or do not go away. Ranogard Tablet ER may not suitable for some people. Tell your doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems. Also let your doctor know all other medications you are using as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. This medicine is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Ranogard Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ranogard Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Ranogard Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with moderate to severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Ranogard Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Q. Q. What are the serious side effects of Ranogard Tablet ER??
    Ans: Ranogard Tablet ER may cause changes in the electrical activity of the heart which is known as QT prolongation. Your doctor may get regular tests done to check the electrical activity of your heart. Tell your doctor right away if you feel faint, lightheaded or if your heart starts beating irregularly or fast, as these may be symptoms of QT prolongation. Ranogard Tablet ER may also cause kidney failure in patients who already have kidney problems. Therefore, your doctor may need to do tests to check how your kidneys are working.
  • Q. Q. I started taking Ranogard Tablet ER about a week ago. Now I have noticed that my urine has become very dark though I am taking plenty of fluids. Is there anything to worry about??
    Ans: Urine discoloration could be because of Ranogard Tablet ER. You need not worry if you do not have any other symptoms. However, if it still bothers you, you can talk to your doctor who will advise you further.

If you have taken an excess of Ranogard Tablet ER by mistake, call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical care in a nearby hospital.

    Ans: Yes, it is safe to take the Ranogard Tablet ER and Metoprolol together. Ranogard Tablet ER has minimal effect on blood pressure in patients with angina.
  • Q. Q. I am a diabetic and am taking metformin. My doctor has prescribed Ranogard Tablet ER, is it safe to take both together??
    Ans: If you are taking metformin along with Ranogard Tablet ER, you have to be careful since Ranogard Tablet ER may increase the levels of metformin in the body which can lead to metformin toxicity. Talk to your doctor who will modify the dose of metformin.
  • Q. Q. I have been taking simvastatin to keep my cholesterol levels in check. Can I take Ranogard Tablet ER with it??
    Ans: It is recommended not to take simvastatin and Ranogard Tablet ER together because it may cause simvastatin toxicity which may lead to symptoms like muscle weakness and soreness, fatigue, decreased urination, etc. Let your doctor know that you are already taking simvastatin. If it is still necessary to take, then take it exactly as advised by the doctor.
