In Treatment of Post menopausal osteoporosis Osteoporosis is thinning and weakening of the bones, thus increasing the risk of fractures. This is common in women after the menopause and is called post menopausal osteoporosis. Ostonat Kit may reverse bone loss by stopping more loss of bone and increasing bone mass. This will reduce the risk of fractures in osteoporosis. Ostonat Kit also helps to keep bones strong and healthy. Since osteoporosis doesn’t usually have any symptoms such as pain (until a fracture occurs) you might not ‘feel’ any immediate benefit from your treatment with Ostonat Kit. Keep taking it untill your doctor asks you to stop.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ostonat Kit is to be taken empty stomach.
Ostonat Kit is a combination of three medicines. It is used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis in women who are at risk of vitamin D insufficiency. It prevents bone loss and makes the bone stronger. This way it reduces the risk of bone fractures. Ostonat Kit is best taken in an empty stomach. You should take it regularly at a fixed time each day. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Do not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you it is alright to stop. This medicine may only be part of a treatment program that may also include changes to your diet and taking other medicines and vitamin supplements. The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, back pain, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, indigestion, heartburn, and diarrhea. These are generally mild and usually resolve on their own. If they do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects. Before using this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders. To make sure the medicine is safe for you, let your doctor also know all the other medicines you are taking. You may need frequent medical tests to check your kidney function and mineral levels while on treatment with this medicine. You should avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol, as it can cause bone loss. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors before using this medicine.

Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Ostonat Kit may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Ostonat Kit is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. If you are taking Ostonat Kit during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.

Driving : UNSAFE

Ostonat Kit may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Ostonat Kit is not expected to have any effects but in rare cases, it may cause dizziness, severe muscle, joint and bone pain and eye pain or inflammation. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Ostonat Kit is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ostonat Kit may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Ostonat Kit is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ostonat Kit may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Ostonat Kit, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
