Omalirel Injection is a monoclonal antibody. It is used in the treatment of moderate to severe asthma in both adults and children. It eases the symptoms of asthma such as wheezing, breathlessness, tightness in your chest, and coughing. Omalirel Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. The first three dose of medicine is given by the doctor. Your doctor will explain to you the best way to inject the medicine so that you can inject your medicine at home. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you even if you feel better. The most common side effects of this medicine include joint pain, pain (general), fatigue, dizziness, fracture, itching, dermatitis, upper abdominal pain, nasopharyngitis, headache, and ear pain. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Remember, it does not prevent you from a sudden attack, hence always carry your emergency inhaler with you. Before taking this medicine if you have liver or kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. In general, alcohol is not recommended while on treatment with this medicine.

Alcohol : SAFE

Consuming alcohol with Omalirel Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.

Pregnancy : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Omalirel Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Omalirel Injection is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving : SAFE

Omalirel Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Omalirel Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Omalirel Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Omalirel Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Omalirel Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
