Product Informations: Oftic R Oral Suspension

In Treatment of Diarrhea Diarrhea refers to the passing of loose, watery stools three or more times a day due to an infection in the gastrointestinal tract. Oftic R Oral Suspension reduces the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes and helps replenish the lost fluids and salts. It also helps treat loose stools and prevents abdominal distension or flatulence. Your child needs to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to stay hydrated. Your child may start to feel better after getting treated for a few days to a week. However, do not extend the course or stop the medicine by yourself without consulting your child’s doctor. This may lead to the recurrence of symptoms.

Kidney : CAUTION

  • Q. Q. What if I give too much Oftic R Oral Suspension by mistake??
    Ans: Though an extra dose of Oftic R Oral Suspension is unlikely to harm, you must immediately speak to the doctor Overdose may cause unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). So, if you think you have given too much to your child, rush to your child’s doctor on an immediate basis.
  • Q. Q. My child has milk intolerance. Can I give Oftic R Oral Suspension to my child??
    Ans: It is not advised to give Oftic R Oral Suspension to children who are intolerant to dairy products/milk as Oftic R Oral Suspension contains lactose.
  • Q. Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Oftic R Oral Suspension??
    Ans: Oftic R Oral Suspension can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Oftic R Oral Suspension. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
  • Q. Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Oftic R Oral Suspension ??
    Ans: Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
  • Q. Q. My child is suffering from long-term (chronic) diarrhea. Can I give Oftic R Oral Suspension??
    Ans: The use of Oftic R Oral Suspension in chronic diarrhea has not been sufficiently studied. Therefore, it is best to consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
