Nucala Injection is a prescription medicine. It is used as an add-on treatment of severe asthma in patients 6 years and older with an eosinophilic phenotype. You should not use this medicine to treat sudden breathing problems. Nucala Injection is given by a doctor or a nurse as an injection. You should not self-administer this medicine at home. The dose and duration of the treatment will depend on the severity of your condition. Get the injection regularly and as long as the doctor has prescribed. The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling, itching, or a burning feeling at the injection site), back pain, and tiredness (fatigue). If any of these side effects bother you or get worse, consult with your doctor. They may be able to suggest ways to reduce or treat the side effects. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to mepolizumab or any of the ingredients in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you are taking any oral or inhaled corticosteroid medicines. However, do not stop taking your other asthma medicines unless instructed by your doctor. You should also not use this medicine if you have a parasitic (helminth) infection. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Alcohol : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Nucala Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : CAUTION

Nucala Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Driving : SAFE

Nucala Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

There is limited information available on the use of Nucala Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Nucala Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Nucala Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
