Lysoflam-MR Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of pain due to muscle spasms. It improves the movement of muscles and provides relief from pain and discomfort associated with muscle spasms. Lysoflam-MR Tablet is best taken in an empty stomach. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for longer duration than recommended by your doctor. Some of the common side effects on of this medicine includes nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, diarrhea, sleepiness, and loss of appetite. If any of these side effects bother you or do not go away with time, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these side effects. The medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, and liver.   Ans: Lysoflam-MR Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Diclofenac and Metaxalone. This combination helps to relieve muscle pain. It works by relaxing muscles by acting on central nervous system and lowering chemical substance in the body that causes pain and inflammation.
• Q. Q. Can I stop taking Lysoflam-MR Tablet when my pain is relieved??
  Ans: Lysoflam-MR Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when your pain is relieved. However, Lysoflam-MR Tablet should be continued if your doctor has advised you to do so.
• Q. Q. Can the use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet cause nausea and vomiting??
  Ans: Yes, the use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without consulting a doctor.

  Ans: Yes, the use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.
• Q. Q. Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet??
  Ans: The use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to painkillers (NSAIDs) or any of the components or excipients of this medicine. The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or in patients who have active, recurrent stomach ulcer / bleeding. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of heart failure, high blood pressure, or any underlying liver or kidney disease.

  Ans: Yes, the long-term use of Lysoflam-MR Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protects them from damage. Use of painkillers lower the levels of prostaglandins in the body which leads to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended in patients with underlying kidney disease.

  Ans: No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Lysoflam-MR Tablet can lead to increased chances of side effects. If you are experiencing increased severity of pain or the pain is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
