In Treatment of Gout Gout is a form of arthritis caused by excess uric acid in the bloodstream. Gout causes attacks of painful inflammation in one or more of your affected joints. Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet contains colchicine that reduces the inflammation, swelling and pain of the gout attack. This medicine is very effective in people who cannot take other anti-inflammatory painkillers and also for those who are taking other medicines for treatment and prevention of gout. Take Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet as prescribed and avoid skipping doses. Make appropriate lifestyle changes like losing weight (if you are overweight), eating a healthy diet and avoiding alcohol or sugar-sweetened drinks to get maximum benefit.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Driving : UNSAFE

Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney : CAUTION

Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet should preferably be avoided if you have serious kidney disease.

Liver : CAUTION

Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, close monitoring is recommended for patients with mild to moderate liver disease also but dose adjustment is not necessary.

If you miss a dose of Gountnil 0.5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
