In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Catapres-Diu Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Catapres-Diu Tablet is to be taken with food.
Catapres-Diu Tablet is a combinational medicine used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. Catapres-Diu Tablet should be taken with food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It makes you lose excess water through urine, hence try to take it at day time to avoid frequent urination at night. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Dryness of mouth, sedation and slow heart rate are some common side effects of this medicine. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. This medicine should be used along with lifestyle changes like a healthy diet, regular exercise and smoking cessation for best results. If you miss a dose of Catapres-Diu Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
