Catapres-Diu Tablet is a combinational medicine used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. Catapres-Diu Tablet should be taken with food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It makes you lose excess water through urine, hence try to take it at day time to avoid frequent urination at night. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Dryness of mouth, sedation and slow heart rate are some common side effects of this medicine. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. This medicine should be used along with lifestyle changes like a healthy diet, regular exercise and smoking cessation for best results.
