In Multiple myeloma If you have multiple myeloma, your body is destroying bone faster than it is being replaced. This makes bones weak and painful and more likely to break. Carfilnat Injection may be prescribed along with other cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. It is an important part of your treatment and increases the survival rate of people with multiple myeloma. This medicine will kill the cancerous cells and prevent their further growth as well as spread to other parts of the body. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit. Supplements of calcium and Vitamin D3 are also effective and may be prescribed if you do not have high blood calcium levels.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Carfilnat Injection is used in the treatment of multiple myeloma. It shows its working by stopping or slowing down the growth of cancer cells. Carfilnat Injection is given as an injection by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. Fatigue, nausea, and fever are some common side effects of this medicine. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Hence, inform your doctor if you notice fever, chills, joint or muscle pain, flushing or swelling of the face, and chest pain. You are advised to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Carfilnat Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life

threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : UNSAFE

Carfilnat Injection is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving : UNSAFE

Carfilnat Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney : CAUTION

Carfilnat Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Carfilnat Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : CAUTION

Carfilnat Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Carfilnat Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

    Ans: Carfilnat Injection in combination with other medications is for patients with relapsed multiple myeloma (multiple myeloma that has returned) and for refractory multiple myeloma (multiple myeloma that no longer responds to treatment). talk to your doctor in case of any doubts.

    Ans: Carfilnat Injection is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion. This is a way to put fluids, including medicine, into your bloodstream through a vein.

    Ans: You may receive this injection in treatment cycles. Each cycle lasts 4 weeks. The cycle includes days when you are given treatment and days when you do not have treatment (rest periods). You will usually have Carfilnat Injection 2 days a week for 3 weeks. In week 4 you do not have treatment. Your doctor will decide your treatment plan depending on what will work best for you.

    Ans: Nausea and fatigue or tiredness are some of the common side-effects of this medicine. Eat smaller, more frequent meals to reduce the feeling of nausea. Avoid food that is salty, spicy, fried, or fatty. Take plenty of rest and do light exercise daily to keep yourself active and reduce fatigue.

    Ans: After the start of the treatment with this medicine, your platelet count might become low. As a result, you may be at risk of infection. It is therefore advisable to avoid crowds or people with colds and infections. Wash your hands often and always after using the bathroom.

    Ans: You should contact your doctor immediately if you develop shortness of breath, prolonged, unusual, or excessive bleeding, yellowing of the skin and/or eyes (jaundice), severe headache, confusion, seizures, or loss of sight.

    Ans: Carfilnat Injection can cause harm to the unborn baby when given to a pregnant woman. Women should use effective contraception during treatment with this medicine and for 6 months following the final dose. Men should use effective contraception during treatment and for 3 months following the final dose.

    Ans: This medicine may pass into breastmilk and harm the baby. Therefore it is advisable not to breastfeed during the treatment and for 2 weeks after the final dose.

    Ans: You might get dehydrated while on treatment with Carfilnat Injection, so it is advisable to increase your fluid intake. This medicine might make you feel dizzy so it is advisable not to drive or operate any machinery. Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF 15 (or higher) sunblock and protective clothing in order to prevent rashes.
