Betadine Vaginal Pessaries is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent. It is used to prevent and treat infection in the vagina that causes itching, irritation, and soreness. It works by killing or preventing the growth of infectious microorganisms in the vagina. Betadine Vaginal Pessaries is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night time for better results. The affected area should be clean before using the medicine. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. This medicine may cause side effects like burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. You should stop taking it straight away if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Signs of this include rash, hives, itching, shortness of breath, cough, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat.
