In Parkinson's disease Amantide Capsule is one of the most effective medications to relieve symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremors, muscle stiffness and difficulty moving. It increases the amount of a chemical called dopamine in the brain which helps in coordination of body movements. This medicine can therefore enhance the quality of life by improving the ability to carry out daily functions in a better manner.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Amantide Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Amantide Capsule is used alone, or with other medicines to treat Parkinson’s disease. It can also be used to treat movement side effects caused by certain drugs (drug-induced movement disorder). Amantide Capsule may be taken with or without food. However, take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. You should finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor. This medicine may put you at a higher risk of having seizures, so it is better to talk to your doctor if you have any history of seizures or taking medication for it. Some common side effects of Amantide Capsule include nausea, dryness in the mouth, constipation, blurred vision, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), hallucinations, peripheral edema and balance disorder (loss of balance). It may initially cause dizziness and lowering of blood pressure while standing, so rise slowly and do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.

Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Amantide Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving : UNSAFE

Amantide Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney : CAUTION

Amantide Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amantide Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Amantide Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver : CAUTION

Amantide Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amantide Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor. It may cause a transient increase in liver enzymes.

If you miss a dose of Amantide Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Additionally, there is the inability to control these urges. If such symptoms are experienced then dose reduction or tapered discontinuation should be considered.

    Ans: No, Amantide Capsule is not known to affect fertility in humans.
