Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Abalam Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Abalam Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving : UNSAFE

Abalam Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney : CAUTION

Abalam Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Abalam Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver : CAUTION

Abalam Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Abalam Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Abalam Tablet is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Abalam Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

    Ans: The use of Abacavir may cause a serious or life-threatening allergic or hypersensitivity reaction. In this, one may experience fever, skin rash, nausea, vomit, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, severe tiredness and headache. Other symptoms of hypersensitivity may include joint or muscle pain, swelling of the neck, shortness of breath, sore throat, cough and occasionally inflammation of the eye (conjunctivitis), mouth ulcers, low blood pressure, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms and stop taking Abacavir immediately.

    Ans: If you forget a dose of Abacavir, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose in the prescribed time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
