Skin being the largest organ of the integumentary system, is for many reasons a common site of diseases. Vitiated blood is a major cause for skin diseases. Purifying the blood (Rakta shodana) is a unique method in Ayurveda to get rid of skin diseases. Of the various blood purifying methods explained in Ayurveda, palliative internal medications is one.
