Zyfrom 1g injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. WEIGH RISKS VS. BENEFITS
Discontinue the use of cefpirome if you develop severe allergic reactions. Inform your doctor if you are taking penicillins, as taking cephalosporins with penicillins may cause allergic reactions. You may be monitored with renal function tests during treatment with combinations of cefpirome and furosemide or ethacrynic acid type and aminoglycosides antibiotics. Take precautions while using cefpirome for longer duration (>10 days) along with beta-lactam antibiotics as you may develop granulocytopenia and, more rarely, agranulocytosis. You may be monitored with regular blood test. Do not take live bacterial vaccines (BCG, typhoid) while on cefpirome therapy. You must be aware that severe and persistent diarrhea may occur with cefpriome during treatment or in the weeks following discontinuation.
